AORO specialists reviewing a renewable energy project

How We Work

From First Conversation
to a Fully Supported Energy System.

We guide your project through one clear process covering assessment, survey, engineering, permissions, installation, commissioning and long-term support.

You will know what happens next, what we need from you and what AORO is responsible for at every stage.

What happens after you contact AORO

A Defined Next Step.
At Every Stage.

The technical detail changes from project to project. The way we manage decisions does not. Each stage closes with a clear output before the next one begins.

We explain what is happening You approve the key decisions We record the agreed outcome
Chapter 01Define

Initial conversation and assessment establish whether the opportunity has a credible basis.

Stages 01–02
Chapter 02Verify & engineer

Survey evidence informs system design, the proposal, permissions and project planning.

Stages 03–05
Chapter 03Deliver & confirm

The approved plan moves through controlled installation, testing, commissioning and handover.

Stages 06–07
Chapter 04Operate & support

AORO OS, monitoring and defined support routes continue beyond project completion.

Stage 08
Chapter 01

Define the opportunity

Start With the Requirement.
Establish a Credible Basis.

Stage 01

Initial Conversation

We Start With What You Need to Achieve.

Your objectives come before the equipment. We establish the property or site, energy priorities, timescale and the people involved.

What AORO doesUnderstand the requirement

We discuss the site, objectives, current energy position and intended outcome.

What we need from youBasic project information

Property address, recent energy information and any known constraints or deadlines.

What you receiveA clear recommended next step

We confirm whether the project is ready for assessment and what information comes next.

Stage 02

Initial Assessment

We Establish Whether the Opportunity Is Technically and Commercially Credible.

Available information is reviewed before a survey is booked. This avoids sending the project forward without a clear basis.

Input 01Energy profile

Usage, tariff and operating pattern.

Input 02Site context

Property type, location and available space.

Input 03Objectives

Cost, resilience, carbon or operational priorities.

Input 04Project conditions

Timescale, stakeholders and known constraints.

Stage 03 / Site surveyWe verify the physical and electrical reality of the site.
03

Survey & technical discovery

Verify before design

We Verify the Site Before We Design the System.

The survey records the conditions that affect engineering, access, installation and long-term operation.

Electrical infrastructureSupply, distribution and connection context.
Access and logisticsWorking areas, routes and site restrictions.
Safety and constraintsRisks, live operations and coordination needs.

Chapter 02

Verify & engineer

Turn Verified Site Information Into a Project You Can Approve.

Design, performance, scope, responsibilities and delivery conditions are presented together so that the decision is based on the complete project.

04

System design & proposal

Engineer the Right System.

  • System architecture and equipment
  • Layout and technical interfaces
  • Expected generation and performance
  • Defined scope and commercial proposal

Installation & project delivery

Deliver against the approved plan

We Coordinate the Work Against the Approved Plan.

The installation team works to the agreed technical information, programme and site conditions. Progress and exceptions are controlled through the project route.

Stage 06 / Controlled deliveryThe approved design is translated into coordinated work on site.
  1. 01Mobilise

Site access, safety, equipment and responsibilities confirmed.

  2. 02Install

Work packages delivered to the approved design.

  3. 03Inspect

    Quality checks completed and recorded.

  4. 04Resolve

    Issues assigned, controlled and closed.

  5. 05Prepare

System readied for testing and commissioning.

Communication control

Communication Is Part of Delivery.

Named project contact

A clear route for project communication.

Milestone updates

Progress reported against agreed stages.

Issue ownership

Actions assigned to the responsible party.

Change control

Material changes explained before proceeding.

07

Commissioning & handover

Confirm before operation

We Confirm the System Before It Becomes Operational.

Installation completion is followed by testing, validation, documentation and a structured client handover.

01Test

Defined electrical and operational checks.

02Validate

System operation and recorded results.

03Document

Relevant commissioning and as-built information.

How We Work — practical answers

Clear Answers Before Your Project Begins.

Questions about assessment, survey, engineering, permissions, installation, handover or support?

Contact AORO
01What information should I provide initially?

We normally begin with the property address, recent energy information, the intended outcome and any known site constraints, stakeholders or deadlines. The initial conversation confirms what is needed next.

02When will you visit the site?

A site visit is arranged when the initial assessment confirms that physical verification is the appropriate next step. The survey scope and access requirements are agreed before the visit.

03How long does design and planning take?

The programme depends on project size, survey findings, technical complexity, approvals, grid requirements and site conditions. The relevant dependencies are identified before the route to delivery is confirmed.

04Who manages DNO and planning requirements?

Where they form part of the agreed scope, AORO coordinates the relevant DNO, grid and planning requirements while keeping responsibilities, dependencies and decisions visible to the client.

05How will I receive project updates?

The delivery route provides a named project contact, milestone updates, clear issue ownership and change control for material decisions or departures from the agreed plan.

06What happens if site conditions change?

The condition is recorded, its effect on design, programme or delivery is assessed, and any material change is explained before the project proceeds.

07What is included at handover?

Handover brings together the relevant commissioning record, as-built and system information, operating guidance and the agreed monitoring or support arrangements.

08What support is available after installation?

AORO OS, project records and defined support routes keep the client connected after handover. The monitoring and aftercare route is agreed for the installed system and project scope.
