Solar systems are long-life assets. Monitoring alerts, equipment faults, changing site conditions or new energy requirements can still require professional assessment.

A change in reported generation can have more than one cause. The installed equipment, monitoring information, electrical condition and original design need to be reviewed before repair or replacement is recommended.

The process starts with evidence. Where site work is required, the scope is defined around the system and confirmed compatibility.

Service Overview

Support for System Performance
and Development

The right service depends on the installed asset, the available evidence and the intended outcome.

Performance Diagnostics

Review alerts, symptoms and available monitoring information to identify the appropriate diagnostic action.

Panel Condition

Assess performance and site conditions before cleaning or maintenance is scheduled.

Inverter Support

Review inverter performance before configuration, further diagnostics or replacement is considered.

Battery Retrofit

Assess suitable existing solar systems for storage integration, subject to technical compatibility.

+

System Expansion

Review whether an installed system can be expanded as energy requirements change.

Ongoing Aftercare

Support monitoring, relevant warranty management and performance review within the agreed scope.

Electrical equipment should remain closed and untouched while the correct support or diagnostic route is identified.
Inverter & Equipment Support

Technical Review
Before Replacement

An alert or fall in reported performance does not automatically mean that equipment must be replaced.

The installed inverter, monitoring setup, electrical condition and original system design need to be assessed first. If remedial work or replacement is appropriate, compatibility and the approved scope are established before work proceeds.

Have a monitoring alert?

Record the message or symptom and use the support route supplied for the system. Do not open electrical equipment.

What the review considers

Monitoring evidence. The alert, symptom and available performance information.
Installed equipment. Inverter, panels, controls and existing storage where present.
Electrical condition. The relevant system and site context.
Original design. System configuration and documented operating intent.
Compatibility. Requirements for any proposed repair, replacement or upgrade.
The recommendation is based on the installed system and the evidence available.

Battery Retrofit & Expansion

Developing an Existing
Solar System

Suitable existing solar PV systems may be assessed for battery integration or carefully planned expansion.

Battery retrofitOften possible through a compatible design, subject to the existing inverter and electrical system.
Changing energy demandEV charging, heat pumps and wider electrification can change how the system should operate.
Compatibility firstRoof or site conditions, electrical capacity, installed equipment and grid requirements are reviewed where relevant.

FAQ

Solar Maintenance
and Upgrade FAQs

Solar panels generally require limited maintenance. Local dust, bird activity, nearby trees, roof pitch and access conditions can change the requirement, so performance and condition should be assessed before work is scheduled.

A monitoring or configuration issue, inverter fault, component fault, shading change or another site condition may be involved. Record the alert or symptom, keep electrical equipment closed and use the support route provided for the system.

Replacement may be appropriate after technical assessment. The installed system, electrical design, monitoring requirements and equipment compatibility must be reviewed before a replacement is specified.

In many cases a battery can be retrofitted, often using an AC-coupled design. Suitability depends on the existing inverter, electrical design, site requirements and intended use.

Expansion may be possible where the roof or site, electrical capacity, installed equipment and relevant grid requirements support it. A technical review is needed before equipment is added.

Provide the monitoring alert or symptom, any available system documents, the equipment details you can identify safely, and the repair or upgrade objective. Do not open electrical equipment.
